The Gap year program has evolved into a partnership that takes the needs of the young person and tailors the work they do to that need. The program is designed to help the student experience youth work in both their local church context and city-wide. Students are trained to deliver high-quality youth work in a relevant way, benifiting them and all concerned .

Our Gap Year has just undergone a radical change and now offers young people a year out that is a partnership between Themselves, their church and North Staffs YFC.

The young person will experience a range of work and gain a variety of knowledge with North Staffs YFC. They can then take that experience and knowledge back to their church to benefit the youth work there.

The young person will also access the weekly training sessions at YFC. These are mainly practical sessions but will still have some theoretical learning in them and are delivered by a variety of leaders from across the city.

The themes for the training are negotiated by the team and reflect their particular needs.

The cost for a Gap year student will be as individual as the Gap Year is itself and every one will be different and agreed by all parties.
