Change, growth & challenge – it’s the stuff of life!
It’s an immense privilege to be the new Director here! I’m picking up the reins from Johnny Douglas – a hugely visionary man who faithfully planted and grew this centre for 8 years.
This has inevitably plunged us into a time of great transition and change which is exciting, challenging, inspiring and tiring! God has His finger on our work, priorities and vision and we are experiencing Him stirring us up, asking us questions and leading us forward in how we serve Him here. He seems to be asking us to reflect on the journey so far – seek Him for the future and follow where he is leading. This is inevitably bringing excitement, insecurity, challenge vision, uncertainty and the need for a deeper level of trust than ever before (and that’s just for me……………!)
I believe that how we respond to the new phase of ministry to young people that God is leading us into here at NSYFC, and how we manage this period of transition will be the difference between a meaningful future – seeing young lives changed, staff resourced & challenged, and new opportunities opening up before us, and a meaningless future, - change tests us, challenges us and forges the character of our faith
The changes here at North Staffs YFC did not catch God by surprise, He planned this, and faithfully we have followed, and we know that He will continue to guide, encourage, and envision us for the future.
This time of change leaves me believing that we are standing on the edge of something very new and exciting in the ministry at North Staffs YFC. God has led us into this season of change – which isn’t over yet – and I for one am excited about what He has for us around the next corner. I see the hand of God at work in so many places at the moment and I am excited about the opportunity to join in with what He is doing!

Midlands born but have migrated all over the place – from Manchester to Southampton with a few stops in between, including a brief but inspiring time being ‘Purpose Driven’ in California!
Married to my ,lovely hubby Geoff an ordained bod in the Church of England who has recently been acknowledged as a ‘Pioneer Minister’, we are on a constant journey of discovering what God has for us, and have learned never to say ‘never’!
At North Staffs YFC we are committed to keep trusting, loving, hoping and sharing the love of the awesome god with each other, and those who so desperately need to hear it. “God cannot lie when He makes s promise, and he cannot lie when he makes an oath. These things encourage us who came to God for safety. They give us the strength to hold on to the hope we have been given. We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, sure and strong.” Heb 6:19-19.
